- ➤ Knoxville police responded to a suspicious pallet shipment from California in early February and K-9 officer Richard Wallace and his dog Max — who alerted officers to a controlled substance — led a high-speed chase that ended with four arrests of men linked to the shipment. WVLT 8

- ➤ Knoxville City Council approved a $315,698 contract with a design firm to close a 250-foot gap in the South Waterfront greenway—divided by an overhead Norfolk Southern railroad track—and the connector will include an ADA compliant path. - ➤ Knoxville City Council approved a $195,052 project on March 18 to repaint 77,000 feet of crosswalk markings, 3,650 feet of stop lines and 80 lanes at 67 intersections to improve safety for pedestrians, bicyclists and drivers. The federally funded work will finish this summer — with updates planned for streets like Lockett Road, Royal Crown Drive, Buffat Mill Road and Holston Hills Road. Knoxville News Sentinel
- ➤ State lawmakers are moving forward with the Freedom for Family Caregiving Act—this bill would let family caregivers like Sandy Bush, who quit her nursing job to care for her disabled son, get paid using TennCare funds.
