CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Knoxville police charged 24-year-old Jada Warren with vehicular homicide after a deadly single-car crash early Thursday on Boright Drive near Whitney Place+ she fled the scene but was later located on Fairmont Boulevard, admitted she was under the influence of marijuana, and a woman injured in the crash died at a local hospital. WVLT 8
- ➤ Officers responded around 1:50 a.m. Thursday to a Honda Accord that crashed into a tree on Boright Drive near Whitney Place and near Whittle Springs, leaving a passenger dead, and later found the driver, Jada Warren—located on the 3200 block of Fairmount Boulevard and admitting to being under the influence of marijuana—who now faces vehicular homicide and driver intoxication charges as the investigation continues. 10 News
- ➤ In Oak Ridge, Baby Wyatt was found dead in Melton Hill Lake on March 26th with his umbilical cord still attached — Detective Jason Robbins leads ongoing investigations to uncover his identity so he can be given a proper burial as the case remains unsolved. 10 News

- ➤ Downtown Knoxville is hosting the ongoing Big Ears Festival which is in its 15th year and features many types of music from around the world. The four-day event started yesterday and will run until March 30 with both ticketed shows and free pop up concerts — a lineup that attracts international fans and supports local business. 10 News
- ➤ The Big Ears Festival returns to downtown Knoxville—featuring unique cross-cultural collaborations that draw a global audience. 10 News
- ➤ The East Tennessee History Center has opened the 'Home Runs & Home Teams' exhibit to showcase baseball’s long history in the Volunteer State before minor league baseball returns to downtown Knoxville after more than two decades. The exhibit runs through September 28 and is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sundays from 1 to 5 at 601 S Gay Street—linking Knoxville’s rich baseball past to its future. 6 News

- ➤ Knox County Air Quality Management officials have banned open burning until further notice because dry, windy conditions have sparked several brush fires in East Tennessee — including a recent fire near Sharp’s Ridge. Officials will notify residents when the ban is lifted. WVLT 8
