  • Knoxville Fire Fighters Association Local 65 will hold its inaugural charity golf tournament on April 22 at Egwani Farms Golf Course in Rockford.  WVLT 8
  • The Knoxville Fire Fighters Association Local 65 will hold its inaugural charity golf tournament on April 22 at Egwani Farms Golf Course in Rockford to support Camp Hope and the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Check-in begins at 7:30 a.m. and a shotgun start is set for 8:30 a.m.—registration is underway.  WVLT 8

  • A Maryville police officer was injured while on his motorcycle responding to a crash on April 3rd — he was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.  6 News
  • A motorcycle crash on US Highway 25/70 in Jefferson County left 35-year-old Jeremy Arangio dead and injured four others when his 2005 Kawasaki JKA struck a 1998 Toyota Sienna after he attempted to pass a Subaru Ascent—charges are pending against the Sienna driver, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.  6 News

CRIME NEWS

  • A 24-year-old Knoxville man pulled a handgun from his backpack during Cedar Bluff Middle School's dismissal on Tuesday when he got upset at a woman behind a car, stepped into traffic and nearly caused an accident, and he now faces charges of aggravated assault, possession and reckless endangerment after police found him nearby with 9 grams of marijuana, police said.  WVLT 8

  • UT Swimming returned to Knoxville after finishing the NCAA championships in Washington and won three national titles in the 400 freestyle relay, 200 freestyle relay, and 50 freestyle. Jordan Crooks, Gui Santos, Nikoli Blackman, and Lamar Taylor set a new NCAA record in the 400 relay – marking the team’s best finish since 2001.  WVLT 8
