- ➤ On Friday, Knoxville veteran Dwight McCarter, who drove a tank for the Army Medical Corps from 1962-1965 and later worked as a ranger with the National Park Service, was awarded a handmade Quilt of Valor that honors his service. WVLT 8

- ➤ Knoxville Police are seeking help to locate Ah’king Jenkins, an 18-year-old reported missing from his home on the 3000 block of Woodbine Avenue at around 7 p.m. Saturday — anyone with information should call 9-1-1. 6 News
- ➤ Knox County District Attorney Charme Allen said that Cody Bales, who lived in an apartment with his roommate's daughter and her mother in early 2018, sexually assaulted the 13-year-old and was convicted of multiple rape counts, receiving a 22-year sentence—without parole—and placement on the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry after the victim disclosed the assault years later. - ➤ Late Thursday night, Buckethead Tavern's parking lot in West Knoxville saw a shooting that injured four people who are all expected to survive—no one inside was hurt and the suspect remains at large. Owner Troy Hale has changed the bar’s hours to close at midnight as a precaution. WVLT 8
- ➤ Knoxville Police Department is looking for 18-year-old Ah’king Jenkins who was reported missing from a home in the 3000 block of Woodbine Avenue today at around 7 p.m.—if you have any information, call 911. 10 News
- ➤ A car and a motorcycle collided in the 7300 block of Green Estates Way off East Beaver Creek Drive in North Knox County Friday at about 7:25 p.m.—the motorcyclist died at the scene as the Knox County Sheriff’s Office began investigating the incident. WVLT 8

- ➤ More than 300 artists created chalk drawings on 150 sidewalk squares during the Dogwood Arts Chalk Walk held on Saturday, April 5th in Market Square—artists like Mene Manresa Bodipo and Pearl Thompson joined students and families while thousands watched the event. Knoxville News Sentinel

- ➤ University of Tennessee, Knoxville Chancellor Donde Plowman said three current students and one former student who works at the school are at risk of deportation after their immigration status changed amid federal efforts. The internal letter showed that one student is on judicial diversion for a property crime and another faces a DUI charge—officials are still reviewing details for the other two. 6 News

- ➤ Lawmakers and civil rights advocates met Friday to oppose a bill that would abolish the nearly 60-year-old Tennessee Human Rights Commission — transferring its authority to Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti and dismissing over 1,000 discrimination complaints. The bill, sponsored by Rep. Johnny Garrett and Sen. John Stevens, will be reviewed on April 9 by the House Finance, Ways, and Means Subcommittee with its Senate version on the Senate Government Operations Committee calendar. WVLT 8
