- ➤ On Tuesday, the Knoxville Smokies will open their new big stadium on the east side of James White Parkway near the Old City, and local business owner Jim Klonaris said that his Kefi restaurant may suffer because a key parking lot will go to season ticket holders. City officials say there is extra parking in downtown garages with a shuttle to Covenant Health Park and that they will adjust plans if needed. WVLT 8

- ➤ In January, Knox County deputies shot 18-year-old Daevon Saint-Germain during a home search for drugs and guns—his family says he was sleeping and unarmed and plans to attend a March for Justice protest in Knoxville on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Five Points to seek answers. 10 News

- ➤ A community event to honor Robert Booker's legacy will take place from 5-7 p.m. April 14 at Vine Middle Magnet School—featuring a gallery, musical performances, a documentary and reflections along with the presentation of the Dr. Booker Legacy Awards to celebrate the late historian and civil rights leader. - ➤ Knox County Schools approved a proposal Thursday to accept $2,000 teacher bonuses from Tennessee's universal school voucher program—full-time teachers eligible after 120 days—and districts must pass resolutions by June 1 so that bonus payments are sent in July. 10 News

- ➤ Knox County is asking residents to share input on 23 transportation projects from its East Knox Mobility Study that seeks to improve roadway safety and support growth in Gibbs, Corryton, Ritta, Strawberry Plains and Mascot—locals use an interactive online survey to rate projects and help set funding priorities. 10 News
- ➤ The Tennessee Senate passed a bill that extends the time survivors can bring child sexual abuse cases for both criminal and civil actions to 30 years after turning 18—this change applies to abuse committed on or after July 1. The bill now heads to Governor Bill Lee for his signature. 10 News

- ➤ An 8-year-old Farragut boy, Bentley White, was injured last week when debris crushed his family's car as they sheltered during severe storms in Kentucky—he underwent emergency brain surgery at Vanderbilt Medical Center and his vital signs have improved with some left arm movement. 10 News
