CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Fellowship Baptist Church in Maryville prayed today for the safe return of minister Josh Sullivan—kidnapped on Thursday in South Africa by armed men who stole his truck—while church members joined in a united hope for his recovery. WVLT 8
- ➤ After a search lasting five days, Loudon County officials announced Sunday that the body of the second missing teen was found in the Tennessee River following a Wednesday car chase that led three teens to jump off a bridge near Lake Drive—one teen surfaced while the first body was found Friday and the remaining teen was taken into custody. WVLT 8
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Jim Clayton, founder of Clayton Homes, said he withdrew his $150 million donation for a new science museum planned for the site of the old police headquarters. Mayor Indya Kincannon said she is working with a councilmember to decide how to use the space and Clayton added the issue can be resolved amicably+ a great science museum is expected in the future. 6 News
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Blue Ridge Beef recalled its Kitten Mix and Puppy Mix after tests found salmonella and listeria contamination from samples collected on March 20th—findings confirmed on April 1st. Customers are urged to return or destroy the recalled food to keep pets safe. WVLT 8

- ➤ Tennessee came from behind to beat Ole Miss 10—8 in the ninth inning at Oxford, Miss and moved to 11—4 in the SEC. Reese Chapman hit a two-run home run while Nate Snead pitched well and the team will host Bellarmine tomorrow at 6 p.m. 10 News
- ➤ Knoxville's Ice Bears came back from a 1-0 series deficit to win Game 3 6-2 over Roanoke—Jimmy Soper and Dawson McKinney each recorded two goals and two assists. The team will host the Birmingham Bulls in the semifinals on Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. at Civic Coliseum. 10 News
- ➤ No. 7 Tennessee defeated No. 1 Texas 4-1 on Sunday—Karlyn Pickens pitched strongly with 10 strikeouts and McKenna Gibson hit a homer and drove in three runs, making the team only the second in SEC history to win series against both the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in one season. The Lady Vols will host Auburn in a three-game SEC set from April 17th to April 19th. 10 News
- ➤ Tennessee coach Kim Caldwell added SMU transfer Nya Robertson to the Lady Volunteers last week. Robertson averaged 18.5 points per game at SMU and is a Fort Worth native who will start her senior season with the team. WVLT 8
