- ➤ The U.S. Small Business Administration is urging Tennessee businesses, nonprofits, homeowners and renters hit by Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton to apply for disaster relief by April 27 for physical damage—loans can help fix damaged property, with economic injury funds available until July 2 to cover missed expenses like payroll and bills. These low interest loans offer terms up to 30 years and may fund upgrades to lessen future storm risks—applicants are encouraged to contact SBA for details. 10 News
- ➤ Knoxville Mayor Indya Kincannon delivered her State of the City Address at Covenant Health Park Friday and presented a $477.3 million net budget that keeps the property tax rate unchanged while boosting funds for public safety, affordable housing and energy projects—key to improving city services and capital investments. City Council will read the budget on April 29 and May 27, and it includes a $25 million payment to reduce debt on the Knoxville Convention Center, saving about $30.2 million in annual costs. WVLT 8
