- ➤ Former Knoxville educator and philanthropist Lula Powell passed away peacefully on April 22 at 94 after more than 40 years in the school system—she was the first female principal at Green Elementary School, and a homegoing celebration will be held on April 28 at Rogers Memorial Baptist Church at 4 p.m. 10 News

- ➤ Sevierville man Buddy Livesay was sentenced Friday to 10-year jail after a short police chase ended in a crash on Edington Road in South Knoxville on June 21st, 2024 - he fled on his motorcycle using a fake identity, was found with two handguns, and had a prior felony aggravated kidnapping conviction in Indiana.
