- ➤ A memorial event honoring East Tennessee workers who died in 2024 was held Saturday in West Knoxville as part of International Workers Memorial Day — names read included five Impact Plastics workers killed by Hurricane Helene flash flooding and three workers from TVA’s Kingston plant who helped clean up the coal ash spill. 10 News

- ➤ Burger Boys, a Knoxville restaurant on Chapman Highway, will close Wednesday after the owner announced the news on Facebook. Founder Jeffrey Andre Bryant said he will post updates if he reopens at a new location—he thanked customers for their support. 6 News

- ➤ East Tennessee will host its annual Bigfoot festival that began in 2021. The event will celebrate local legends and bring the community together—continuing a longstanding tradition. WVLT 8
- ➤ Jewish organizations from Knoxville and Oak Ridge held the eighth annual Knoshville festival at the Arnstein Jewish Community Center on Sunday. The event featured traditional foods like blintzes, bagels, Algerian soups, and baked goods — and Knoxville Mayor Indya Kincannon spoke in support of diversity while addressing antisemitism. 6 News

- ➤ The Department of Education announced that defaulted federal student loans will resume repayment for loans that were over 270 days past due before COVID (loans in forbearance or nearing default won’t be affected). Borrowers are urged to check their status on studentaid.gov and contact the resolution unit to avoid wage garnishment or similar actions. WVLT 8
