- ➤ A car crashed into Domino’s Pizza at 900 N. Broadway Saturday night as the driver said her brakes failed — she was cited for not having proof of insurance and no injuries were reported. 6 News

- ➤ A teacher and coach at Greenback Public School (58-year-old Malcolm Gray Williams, Jr.) was arrested on May 7 on charges of sexual battery after allegedly inappropriately touching a custodian near the field house on April 25; he has since submitted a notice to retire effective immediately. - ➤ A 4.1 magnitude earthquake shook East Tennessee Saturday, and residents felt a strong tremor recorded by the sensitive Tuckaleechee Caverns seismograph (it struck 25 kilometers underground along old fault lines) while experts warned that aftershocks might follow. WVLT 8

- ➤ Knoxville's Office of Community Safety and Empowerment has partnered with VisionLED to help nonprofits serve disengaged 12- to 24-year-olds in three zip codes with high levels of opportunity youth — 37914, 37918, and 37921.
