- ➤ Knox County will launch its free Park & Play program this summer in local parks every Thursday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., starting with Plum Creek Park on June 5 and ending at Hardin Valley Community Park on July 31 — the program offers board games, scavenger hunts, arts and crafts, group games and athletic demonstrations. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Knoxville police arrested Robert Vandergriff, 58, and Glenda Savage, 59, Tuesday after they fired five to six shots at a vape shop and bar in Happy Holler Historic District—officers said the couple returned after bar staff refused to serve Savage because she was intoxicated, no one was hurt, and the suspects now face counts of aggravated assault. 10 News
- ➤ Kenneth DeHart, accused in Deputy Greg McCowan's murder, appeared in court Tuesday for a motion hearing where his counsel questioned if his public defender was given enough time at last year's preliminary hearing — the judge will rule on the matter Wednesday. WVLT 8

- ➤ Knoxville’s Tennessee Valley Fair will take place at Chilhowee Park from September 5-14, featuring three concerts so far—Ole 60 with Rob Langdon on September 8 at 8 p.m., Flo Rida on September 11 at 8 p.m., and Styx on September 12 at 8 p.m. Tickets for Ole 60 will go on sale Friday, June 6 at 10 a.m. while other concert tickets, which include free fair admission, are already available. 6 News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Gov. Bill Lee signed a law that will make it a felony to knowingly possess, distribute, or produce software meant to create AI-generated child porn. The law (which labels possession as a Class E felony, distribution as a Class C felony, and production as a Class B felony) will take effect on July 1. WVLT 8
- ➤ Tennessee has made it a crime to create or share technology designed to produce AI-generated child pornography — the law, signed by Governor Bill Lee and sponsored by Senator Ken Yager, will take effect on July 1 — and it sets different felony levels for possession, distribution, and production. 6 News

- ➤ The DOJ’s Antitrust Division submitted a statement of interest in a lawsuit by former UT basketball player Zakai Zeigler, who challenges the NCAA rule that limits athletes to four seasons—he says the rule hurts his chance to earn NIL income. A hearing will be held on June 6 in the Eastern District of Tennessee—officials will use a rule of reason test under the Sherman Act. 10 News
