- ➤ Tennessee prosecutors have indicted Kilmar Abrego Garcia on two human trafficking counts after he was mistakenly deported to an El Salvador prison and later brought back to face trial for allegedly smuggling undocumented immigrants from Latin America by using cellphones and social media — a motion for his detention has been filed due to flight risk concerns. - ➤ The University of Tennessee Board of Trustees will meet July 1 to review proposals that raise tuition for in-state students at four campuses while UT Knoxville keeps its tuition the same but increases mandatory fees by 2.8% (an extra $64). The proposals are part of efforts to improve college affordability as more than 80% of undergraduates receive financial aid or scholarships. 10 News
