- ➤ A Knoxville church—E Avue House of Prayer Ministries—is collecting hygiene items, bottled water, camping chairs, long extension cords, paper towels and toilet paper to help tornado victims in London-KY and Somerset-KY. - ➤ Knox County Sheriff’s Office arrested five people on Sunday after executing a search warrant on Silver Spur Lane—off Lovell Road and seizing over 2.5 pounds of fentanyl, cutting agents, two handguns, and $10,000 in cash, valued at more than $500,000 as part of the 313 Initiative to stop drugs entering Tennessee. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Whittle Springs Golf Course started in 1919 and became Knoxville’s first public course in 1930—its off-course field once hosted early airplane landings. Local Black citizens pushed for change in the late 1950s, and by 1961 city action granted full access to all—ensuring the site remains in use today. Knoxville News Sentinel
