ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Search crews from Hawkins County Rescue Squad, Church Hill Rescue Squad, and Jefferson County Rescue Squad joined efforts to look for 21-year-old David Molina, a Knoxville man who jumped from a pontoon boat into Douglas Lake on Sunday and did not resurface, although recovery efforts were suspended Tuesday because of bad weather (to ensure responder safety). 6 News
- ➤ Emergency crews continue searching Douglas Lake for David Simanca Molina, who jumped from a pontoon boat at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Muddy Creek area near Point 7 & did not resurface as multiple agencies use sonar and remotely operated vehicles to scan the deep water. 10 News

- ➤ Dulcie’s Café said its food truck was stolen from 701 N. Cherry Street just after 1 a.m. Sunday and Knoxville Police launched an investigation after a video showed a white truck, reported to be a Home Depot rental, driving away with the trailer valued at over $70,000—Dulcie’s Café is offering a reward for information. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Knoxville City Council will vote on a half-cent sales tax increase for the November ballot. Officials said the measure will generate $47 million a year — speeding up projects that typically take 20 years to be completed in just 5 years. 10 News
- ➤ Knox County Commissioner Andy Fox drafted an ordinance that would stop fluoride from being added to drinking water in the ninth district— the county board will eventually vote on the proposal. WVLT 8
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported three human West Nile virus cases in Tennessee, including one in Knox County, and said there are 10 cases nationally so far this year. The agency said few infected people show symptoms and advised using insect repellent and wearing long sleeves outdoors for protection. WVLT 8
