- ➤ A woman died after a motorcycle crash on Thursday evening in Great Smoky Mountains National Park when NPS rangers responded at about 5:30 p.m. on Little River Road—Gatlinburg EMS tried to help but she was pronounced dead and officials are investigating. 6 News

- ➤ Knoxville company Knox Goats cleared kudzu at a business park near Century Park in Cedar Bluff using goats instead of noisy mowers and trimmers — a natural method adopted after CFO Lee Aire’s innovative idea. The approach provided a quieter solution during spring and summer. WVLT 8
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Knox County Sheriff’s Office deputy Dalton Swanger returned home after suffering severe head trauma when he was struck with a rock or brick on June 22 during filming (On Patrol Live); Christopher Michael Hensley (accused of attempted second-degree murder) faces charges, and Swanger is now recovering at home while doing remarkably well. 6 News
- ➤ Knoxville couple Lauren Adams and Richard Adams face several drug charges after police raided their home on Boyes Ridge Pike for a second time in two years and found fentanyl, mushrooms, a shotgun, cash, and drug scales — evidence that their property, located within 1,000 feet of an elementary school, was used to process fentanyl for sale. - ➤ Deputy Dalton Swanger returned home from the hospital on July 3 after he was struck in the head by a rock or brick on June 22 near Stanley Road—he will continue his recovery at home. 10 News
