- ➤ Knoxville police say a collision between a Dodge Durango and a motorcycle on S. Northshore Drive early Saturday left a female passenger dead and the motorcycle driver seriously injured (the investigation is ongoing). 10 News
- ➤ On July 19, a 58-year-old man fell from a wakeboard boat and was struck by the vessel near Springs Dock on Norris Lake — his body was recovered after an extensive search by officials. 6 News

- ➤ Knox County Sheriff’s Office is searching for Knoxville man William Christian Powell after he fled police during a Friday night traffic stop and abandoned his vehicle near 410 Merchants Drive — officers found drugs, handguns, and other items and warn residents not to approach him. WVLT 8
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The 10-year, $10 billion road plan from the IMPROVE Act is falling behind schedule as only about one-third of its 962 projects are finished while 20% have not started. Lawmakers in Knoxville say more money—like a tax on tire sales—is needed to fix a $38.5 billion backlog and rising repair costs. 10 News

- ➤ Summit Medical Group announced Friday that it sent a formal notice to BlueCross BlueShield stating it may lose in-network status for patients if a new contract is not reached, with coverage ending Jan. 1 for 2026. Patients can still receive care as usual until the current agreement expires on Dec. 31. 10 News
- ➤ AMR is partnering with local mental health professionals to offer in-house care for first responders after a month-long pilot that supports EMS personnel during traumatic calls — the program is expected to expand to include additional services as demand grows. 10 News
