- ➤ On Sunday, friends and family held a memorial ride from Bootlegger Harley-Davidson in West Knoxville to the crash site at North Broadway and Rose Drive to honor 21-year-old Kodie Morocco—killed in a multi-vehicle crash on July 8—and urged drivers to slow down and check headlights. 6 News

- ➤ On Sunday, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation issued an Endangered Child Alert for 6-year-old Ernesto Ramos Quiroz in Sevier County, and by 6 p.m. he was found safe while his non-custodial father Jorge Ramos Lopez was taken into custody for aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault—officials said the child is secure. - ➤ A 21-year-old Knoxville man, Kevin Zaragoza, was charged with vehicular homicide by intoxication after speeding and crashing on Western Avenue Sunday at about 1:30 a.m.—the crash killed a 78-year-old passenger and injured a 58-year-old driver. 6 News

- ➤ Tennessee is holding its annual tax‑free weekend from July 25 to 27—when families can buy clothing at $100 or less, school supplies, and prebuilt computers under $1,500 without paying the usual 9.25% tax. - ➤ On Tuesday, the Knoxville City Council will consider a resolution that allows Mayor Indya Kincannon to sign an agreement with Charles Blalock & Sons, Inc. for up to $17.6 million in improvements on Pleasant Ridge Road—these updates include new turn lanes, a shared-use path, and better traffic signals and drainage, with construction set to begin in September and last two years while a separate engineering services contract is also discussed. 6 News
