- ➤ The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Knoxville golf tournament will take place Sept. 4 at Egwani Farms Golf Course and still needs to fill about half its team slots. Proceeds from the 18-hole game, three meals and on-course contests— including team sponsor packages starting at $1,400— will help support families with critically ill children treated at local hospitals. - ➤ Knoxville Police arrested 29-year-old convicted felon Markeius Campbell on Thursday after a tip led officers to his North Ridge Crossing apartment where a car search found baggies with 25 grams of marijuana and an apartment search uncovered two handguns—one stolen from Blount County—and over 330 grams of marijuana, with Campbell accused of selling cocaine and marijuana from his unit. - ➤ Knoxville police arrested 29-year-old Markeius Campbell on July 24 after a tip led them to a car 487 feet from a Boys & Girls Club where officers smelled marijuana and later searched his Claudius Road apartment—finding two handguns, over 330 grams of marijuana, and evidence of drug distribution, with Campbell facing charges as a convicted felon. 6 News

- ➤ Knox County Schools will begin a half-day session on Aug. 7 as WVLT News offers an online toolkit with resources for tracking buses, checking calendars, and managing class assignments — the toolkit aims to help families prepare for the new school year. WVLT 8
- ➤ Knoxville Area Urban League will host its 23rd annual Shoes for School event on Aug. 2 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Covenant Health Park — offering students backpacks, school supplies, food, haircuts and dental check-ups for the first time — even though registration for shoes is closed and items are available on a first-come, first-served basis. 10 News
- ➤ SchoolMania returns today from 3 to 6 p.m. at Chilhowee Park in Knoxville, where Knox County families can collect free school supplies provided by local sponsors and organizations. Several county churches are hosting similar events from 9 to 11 a.m.—offering additional supplies to families. 10 News

- ➤ The U.S. Energy Department selected four sites—Oak Ridge Reservations, Idaho National Lab, Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant and Savannah River Site—for AI data center and power generation projects that will invite private sector partners. The department said detailed plans and guidelines will be released in the coming months to guide project development, Energy Secretary Chris Wright announced. 10 News
