- ➤ A trial began today for Knoxville woman Trinity Clark accused in a 2023 fatal drag race crash—co-defendant Trashawn Glass pleaded guilty in 2024. 10 News
- ➤ State investigators said that Jason Dobbins, a former Trustee's Office director, used insider information to profit over $100k from flipping delinquent properties and wholesale deals—he turned himself in on Friday after a grand jury indicted him on two counts of official misconduct and he will be arraigned on Aug.26. 10 News

- ➤ Muse Knoxville is planning to expand into the Jacob Building at Chilhowee Park — increasing its space from 10,000 square feet to nearly 57,000— if the city council approves a new lease this fall. The children’s science museum has launched a public capital campaign and will continue scheduled events at the building through fall 2026. 6 News

- ➤ tnAchieves is launching a program that pairs college sophomores with workforce mentors to help them prepare for career success. The nonprofit is expanding its mentorship model—which already supports over 90,000 students and retains nearly 85% in Tennessee—to further build a skilled local workforce. WVLT 8
- ➤ AMR’s Knox County director, Jerry Harnish, urged local parents to talk with their children about bus, walking, and biking safety as back-to-school traffic increases, advising students to stay at least six feet from parked buses (for clear driver visibility) to reduce risks. WVLT 8
